The Midwest Moods Enamel Pin Set began with the “Uff Da” design. Uff Da is often said by people- often of Norwegian descent- to express exhaustion, disbelief, or a “big oof.” From there, I considered what other phrases are often heard in the Midwest and expanded on the pieces to include “you betcha,” “okey dokey,” and “ope” as in, “ope, I’m just gonna sneak by ya there and grab the ranch.”
